Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects

The American studio KPF (Kohn Pedersen Fox) deals with architectural design, urban planning and graphics, planning and master plans for both public and private clients. Founded in 1976 by the Italian American architect Lee Polisano, who is its chairman, it has branches in New York, London and Shanghai. The firm enjoys international fame, counting some 400 collaborators from over 43 countries and has completed projects in more than 30 countries around the world, also earning 200 awards for excellence in design and publications in 13 monographs. Its work is based on principles of compatibility and environmental sustainability, urban responsibility in architectural design, and innovation and technology. Its most recent projects include the renovation and extension of the World Trade Centre in Amsterdam, Bishopsgate Tower in London, the new Endesa headquarters in Madrid, the master plan of Parc des Portes in Paris and that of Bressenden Place of London, which incorporates Victoria Station. In 1999 Polisano was included in the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects for his important contribution to the development of architecture.
